*WT's College of Business has one of the top online MBA programs available today (Selling Power Magazine, 2003 and GetEducated.com, 2004, 2006, and 2008 ). Selling Power editors Ranked WT on their list of the 50 best and most comprehensive online MBA programs and on their list of the Top 10 most affordable online MBA degrees. GetEducated.com ranked the WT MBA program as a top 25 best buy (3rd out of 91 comprehensive programs for 2008) for regionally acrredited programs.

The College of Business offers a complete MBA program that is available exclusively via the Internet or can combine online courses with campus courses to meet degree requirements. Students are able to take every course required for graduation. The online courses are the same that on-campus students must take, but feature the convenience of learning from home at any time of the day.  Students that do not want to complete their course work exclusively online are welcome to complete courses on campus in addition to the online mode.  The MBA program is generally designed for completion within a two-year period, although a few students complete the program in as little as one year while others take as long as six years. 

Applicants may be admitted into the Graduate School under one of the following conditions:

(1) Admission: Students are granted admission when the applicant has an undergradaute grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher and scores in the 50th percentile or higher in one or more categories (math, verbal, or analytical) of the GRE or GMAT.

(2) Conditional Admission: Students that do not qualify for regular admission are granted conditional admission when the applicant has an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or higher and scores in the 25th percentile or higher in one or more categories of the GRE or GMAT.

(3) Students not qualifying for regular or conditional admission will be denied admission and may consult with the Dean of the Graduate School for assistance on future admission possiblities or possible committee review for conditional admission based on special circumstances consistent with House Bill 1641.

Students must apply to the University and to the Graduate School followed by contacting the Director of Graduate Programs in order to create a degree plan of studyy and select courses for your first semester.


MBA Degree Requirements

Students seeking the Masters of Business Administration degree must first establish proficiency in Accounting, Economics, Business Statistics, Computer Information Systems, Management, Marketing, Finance, and Business Law. This proficiency may be established by courses taken in an undergraduate program, by completing advanced standing examinations, or by taking the following courses: ACCT 6300, ECON 6300, BUSI 6300, QBA 6300, MGT 6300, MKT 6300, and FIN 6300.

 The following courses are required:

ACCT 6305: Accounting for Decision Making
CIS 6305: Management of Enterprise Information Technology
ECON 6305 or 6306: Seminar in Advanced Microeconomic or Macroeconomic Theory
FIN 6320: Seminar in Finance
MKT 6340: Seminar in Marketing  
QBA 6305: Quantitative Analysis in Business
MGT 6334: Seminar in Organizational Behavior
MGT 6318: Strategic Management

12 Hours of Electives (of which 6 hours must be above the 6300-level course).
The total degree plan for a student includes the 24 hours of core, 12 hours of graduate business electives, and the leveling requirements (which varies across different students).

Note: Leveling courses are recognized with the number 6300 (e.g., ECON 6300 or ACCT 6300) and can not be used to complete core or elective requirements.

File for Graduation

It is very important that you remember to contact the Graduate School at the start of your last semester.  The Graduate School will need time to review your file, order your diploma, and put your name in the commencement program.  Fall graduates need to contact the Graduate school before the start of October and Spring graduates need to contact the Graduate school before the start of February. 


Scholarship Consideration

All business students interested in receiving financial support are encouraged to apply for scholarships via the University/College of Business application process.  In addition, the College of Business Graduate Business Council will select four $1,000 scholarship winners from a direct application pool of online-only students.  For the 2006-2007 academic year two students will be selected  before April 1st, 2006 and two will be selected before July 15th, 2006.  Out-of-state recipients will receive the scholarship and access to in-state tution for the academic year.  This competitive process will consider history of academic performance, GMAT score, work experience, and community service.  Interested applicants should forward support documentation to Dr. Neil Terry, Director of Graduate Business Programs.
