Graduate Programs
MBA | Online MBA | Global Pantex Programs | MPA | MSFE
The MBA program at West Texas A&M University offers a variety of options for students seeking a professional business degree from a regionally accredited University. The 250 students in the MBA program have the option to concentrate in Management, Marketing, Biotechnology & Health Care Administration, Agriculture, and Computer Information Systems (students interested in an accounting concentration should consider the MPA program while those interested in an economics or finance concentration are encouraged to consider the MSFE program). The 36-57 credit hour MBA program is designed for completion within a two-year period, although a few students complete the program in as little time as one year while others take up to six years. Campus courses (primarily at night) and online courses are the primarily delivery methods supporting the MBA degree.
(1) Admission: Students are granted admission when the applicant has an undergradaute grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher and scores in the 50th percentile or higher in one or more categories (math, verbal, or analytical) of the GRE or GMAT.
(2) Conditional Admission: Students that do not qualify for regular admission are granted conditional admission when the applicant has an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or higher and scores in the 25th percentile or higher in one or more categories of the GRE or GMAT.
(3) Students not qualifying for regular or conditional admission will be denied admission and may consult with the Dean of the Graduate School for assistance on future admission possiblities or possible committee review for conditional admission based on special circumstances consistent with House Bill 1641.
Students who enter the graduate program may be required to take leveling courses in areas where a grade of "C" or lower was earned. A 3.0 average in all course work is required. Students that fall below a 3.0 will be placed on probation. The student must correct the grade point average the semester following probation.
MBA students can transfer a maximum of 12 credit hours of graduate work. All transfer credit must come from an accredited university within a six-year time period. Other restrictions may also apply. For more information on transfer credit please refer to the West Texas A&M University catalog and/or contact an academic advisor.
